Slope trigger
D.E.V.I.C.E. is an encyclopedia of terms used by manufacturers of test and measurement equipment. T&M Atlantic created this service to better explain the functionality of instruments it offers, and to highlight the latest developments in the world of T&M Atlantic. We are using such tools as flash and animation to bring words and pictures to life and to create not just an understanding but also an appreciation for technology that goes into the design of every instrument.

Slope triggering provides the oscilloscope pulse edge triggering, the pulse goes through two adjustable thresholds for the time which is more than, less than or equal to the specified interval. There is an opportunity to setup the oscilloscope for rising slope or falling slope triggering.
The inamated image below shows the sine signal oscillogram at the rising edge record triggering, the width is 30µs. The edge width under measurement is limited with low and high thresholds.
