Ampere’s experiments on the interaction between magnetic fields

On September 25, 1820, the French physicist, mathematician and chemist André-Marie Ampere demonstrated an experiment on the interaction between magnetic fields arising around electric currents to the Academy of Sciences. The influence of Ampere’s works on many branches of science, starting from atom physics of and elementary particles to electrical engineering and geophysics, can hardly be overestimated.
