Mars Climate Orbiter

What silly calculation mistake could cause the crash of Mars Climate Orbiter spacecraft?
In 1999 NASA Mars Climate Orbiter spacecraft approached Mars. But instead of flying 87 miles above the planet surface it was about 36 miles above and simply burnt in the atmosphere. Afterwards the reason for the crash was found. One group of specialists used British measurement units (pound - power) and the other one – metrical (Newton).
