The biggest crater on Earth is Vredefort Crater. Its diameter is about 250-300 km (155-186 miles) and this makes it be the biggest one on our planet (without taking into consideration possible Wilkes Land crater with its diameter of 500 km (310 miles) in Antarctica). Vredefort Crater is located 120 km (74 miles) far from Johannesburg, South Africa.
