200 monks jumped up as a result of the electricity experiment In XVIII French physicist Jean-Antoine Nollet made experiments rather unusual for that century. Thus in one of his experiments with electricity he made about 200 monks gathered into a circle of a mile in circumference jump up due to the electric shock. Since the men reacted at the same time this experiment showed that the speed of electricity propagation was very high.
