Anritsu Develop MT8820C Radio Communication Analyzer to Support Evaluation of Band22/Band42/Band43 LTE Mobiles

10/31/2012

Anritsu Corporation has announced the development of new extended functions on the MT8820C Radio Communication Analyzer. The MT8820C now supports the testing of LTE FDD Band 22 and LTE TDD Band 42/43 LTE smartphones and mobile terminals in the new 3 GHz band operating frequency.

The 3 GHz band allocated to LTE FDD Band 22 and LTE TDD Band 42/43 provides a wider set of frequency bands compared to the 700 MHz to 2.7 GHz band currently used by LTE services. This additional bandwidth is being examined by the world's communications carriers because it can help solve network capacity and congestion problems caused by the current rapid increases in mobile data traffic.

The MT8820C supports all cellular mobile communications technologies including LTE, and is a leading measurement solution with terminal makers worldwide developing and manufacturing smartphone and mobile terminals. It is configured with a range of dedicated measurement hardware and software installed in the MT8820C main unit to support communications technologies including LTE, W-CDMA/HSPA, CDMA2000Ⓡ, TD-SCDMA, GSM, etc., for evaluating smartphone and mobile terminal radio performance and call-processing functions. With this new release, the MT8820C now supports previous mobile technologies in addition to the new LTE FDD Band 22 (3.4 to 3.6 GHz) and LTE TDD Band 42/43 (3.4 to 3.8 GHz) frequencies used by LTE smartphones and mobiles.

Anritsu expects the MT8820C, with expanded support for LTE FDD Band 22 and LTE TDD Band 42/43, will help smooth the introduction and spread of mobile broadband services using LTE smartphones and mobile terminals.
