In a strategically important announcement that could see the widespread international adoption of 5G Broadcast / Multicast, Rohde & Schwarz has announced two 5G Broadcast-enabled transmitters - the field-proven R&S®Tx9 & Tx9evo transmitter series. In addition, for existing Rohde & Schwarz transmitter users, the migration to 5G Broadcast/Multicast can be achieved through a software upgrade and minor hardware upgrade.

Tektronix, Inc. recently launched a new feature to its TekScope PC Software, making it the newest and most sophisticated waveform analysis PC software in the test and measurement market. TekScope PC Software with enhanced Multi-Scope Analysis allows remote users to view and analyze data from up to 32 channels from multiple scopes at the same time in the same interface, accelerating analysis efficiency.

Texas Instruments (TI) introduced a new Ethernet physical layer (PHY) capable of transmitting 10-Mbps Ethernet signals up to 1.7 km through a single pair of twisted wires. This additional cable length helps designers extend the reach of industrial communications without increasing system weight or cabling costs.

Rohde & Schwarz was awarded a contract by Italian shipbuilder Cantiere Navale Vittoria to supply line of sight (LOS) and beyond line of sight (BLOS) communications systems for the Guardia di Finanza’s offshore patrol vessels. Guardia di Finanza is the law enforcement arm of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance.
