New global Engineer Survey launched by Tektronix
04/13/2021 | 456
Tektronix, Inc. launched a new global survey designed to provide greater insight into the technologies, challenges and opportunities faced by professional test and measurement engineers. The survey will investigate what engineers want and need from test and measurement manufacturers, how engineers interact with test and measurement software and the pain points facing test engineers across a range of industries.

Integrated Grade 0 BLDC motor driver shrinks 48-V motor-drive systems as much as 30% in mild hybrid electric vehicles
04/09/2021 | 610
Texas Instruments (TI) introduced a highly integrated Grade 0 brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver for 48-V high-power motor control systems, such as traction inverters and starter generators in mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEVs). The DRV3255-Q1 can help designers shrink their motor system size by as much as 30%, while providing the industry’s highest gate-drive current for increased protection and output power. Meeting the most stringent safety requirements, the new motor driver was designed according to TI’s TÜV SÜD-certified functional safety development process, helping enable up to Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) D.

Rohde & Schwarz introduces the first trigger and decode solution for 1000BASE-T1 automotive Ethernet
04/06/2021 | 635
The flexibility of automotive Ethernet makes the simple twisted-pair network technology ideal for an ever-increasing range of in-vehicle networks. In order to verify, commission and troubleshoot designs based on an automotive Ethernet communication link, it is important to have an instrument that is capable of not only measuring and verifying compliance to the standards but also decoding the messages and reliably triggering on them.

Keysight introduces massively parallel board test system to enable higher throughput in a smaller footprint
04/02/2021 | 659
Keysight Technologies, Inc. has introduced the new i7090 massively parallel board test system. This is a new category of automated test equipment designed to perform tests in parallel, on multiple printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), to achieve high volume throughput which speeds time-to-market and reduces cost-of-test.

Yokogawa Test & Measurement releases DL950 ScopeCorder
03/30/2021 | 620
Yokogawa Test & Measurement Corporation announced the release of DL950 ScopeCorder, a high-precision data acquisition system, and two compatible input modules. The DL950 is the successor to the DL850 and DL850V ScopeCorder series that were released in 2010, and features a number of enhancements that improve both functionality and operability. In addition, two new input modules are being released for the DL950; these are the 720212, which is capable of reading data at 200 mega-samples per second (MS/s), and the 720256, which can read data from four input channels at 10 MS/s. By the fall of this year, Yokogawa will also release an optional flash acquisition function for the storage of high-sampling-rate data in embedded non-volatile memory.

Rohde & Schwarz enters source measure unit market with the new R&S NGU
03/26/2021 | 1507
With two new source measure units (SMU), Rohde & Schwarz enters a market previously not addressed by the power products of the test and measurement specialist. The performance of the new R&S NGU201 and R&S NGU401 SMUs enables simultaneous sourcing and measuring of currents and voltages with high precision.

Keysight and Transphorm create power supply reference design that lowers product costs, speeds time to market
03/23/2021 | 468
Keysight Technologies, Inc., a leading technology company that helps enterprises, service providers and governments accelerate innovation to connect and secure the world, and Transphorm, Inc., a global supplier of high reliability, high performance gallium nitride (GaN) power conversion products, have announced the availability of a new power supply reference design that enables engineers to identify and correct design errors before building hardware, thereby lowering product costs and speeding time to market.

New PAM4 ED makes Anritsu Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A first BERT to support real-time measurement of FEC Symbol Errors
03/19/2021 | 468
Anritsu Company introduces expanded Forward Error Correction (FEC) analysis capability in its 116-Gbit/s PAM4 Error Detector (ED) MU196040B module for the Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A series bit error rate testers (BERTS).
