Texas Instruments (TI) introduced the industry's fastest 5.7-kVRMS isolated dual-channel gate driver, the first of a new gate driver family in TI's isolation portfolio. The UCC21520's flexible, universal compatibility enables its use as an isolated driver in low-side, high-side, high-side/low-side or half-bridge power management designs.

The new R&S ZNBT20 from Rohde & Schwarz is the first true multiport vector network analyzer in the microwave range with up to 16 integrated test ports. The unique hardware architecture from the R&S ZNBT8 has been extended to 20 GHz. This allows users to characterize multiple devices under test in parallel and thus increase throughput tremendously. The R&S ZNBT offers the high measurement performance of a two-port network analyzer at each of its test ports.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced the newest release of its high-performance, Advanced Low-Frequency Noise Analyzer (A-LFNA), which is designed to make fast, accurate and repeatable low-frequency noise measurements. The release features a new user interface and tight integration with Keysight's WaferPro Express software — a platform that performs automated wafer-level measurements of semiconductor devices. As part of this larger framework, the platform provides engineers with a deeper understanding of the noise in their devices and circuits, surpassing dead-end noise measurements on a standalone system.

NI, the provider of platform-based systems that enable engineers and scientists to solve the world’s greatest engineering challenges, announced a second-generation vector signal transceiver (VST).The NI PXIe-5840 module is the world’s first 1 GHz bandwidth VST and is designed to solve the most challenging RF design and test applications.

The contract, amounting to more than 10 million Omani rials (more than 22 million euros), was awarded in the third week of May. In late 2014, Oman TV, the public authority for radio and TV in the Sultanate of Oman, had released a tender for a nationwide DVB-T2 digital TV network with 69 sites to be set up on a turnkey basis. Rohde & Schwarz and several other leading vendors participated in the tender. After evaluation, the German company was selected as the prime contractor for the project. By winning the bid, Rohde & Schwarz is continuing its TV success story in the Middle East. Qatar, Bahrein, Sharjah and Jordan are already running or building DVB-T2 networks from the market leader in terrestrial TV transmission systems.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. announced that Allion Labs, Inc., an international electronics certification laboratory (www.allion.com), has successfully adopted Keysight's high-speed digital measurement solutions to offer certification testing services for the new Thunderbolt™ 3 hosts (motherboards, notebooks, add-on cards, all-in-one systems) and devices. As a result, Allion is now an Intel authorized certification lab for Thunderbolt 3 technologies.

Tektronix, a leading worldwide provider of measurement solutions, introduced the TBS2000, a next generation basic oscilloscope featuring the longest record length and largest display in its class for faster signal evaluation and troubleshooting. This latest addition to the Tektronix portfolio puts expanded capabilities, including the ability to use a wide range of Tektronix probes, into the hands of budget-constrained design engineers and educators.

Texas Instruments (TI) introduced the industry's first double-data-rate (DDR) memory linear regulator for space applications. The TPS7H3301-SP is the only DDR regulator immune to single-event effects up to 65 megaelectron volts per centimeter squared (MeV-cm2), powering space-satellite payloads including single-board computers, solid-state recorders and other memory applications.

NI, the provider of platform-based systems that enable engineers and scientists to solve the world’s greatest engineering challenges, announced the NI PXIe-4135 source measure unit (SMU) with a measurement sensitivity of 10 fA and voltage output up to 200 V. Engineers can use the NI PXIe-4135 SMU to measure low-current signals and take advantage of the high channel density, fast test throughput and flexibility of NI PXI SMUs for applications such as wafer-level parametric test, materials research and characterization of low-current sensors and ICs.

Keysight Technologies, Inc. introduced its Signal Optimizer software—the industry's first and only all-in-one software for calibration, signal creation and signal analysis of 5G candidate waveforms. By simplifying calibration and the critical design tasks related to 5G signal creation and analysis, the software enables R&D engineers to focus more time on being first-to-market with their own designs.
